Copy Requirements
This is a perfect bound publication, please allow 6mm for gutter loss.
We accept press-optimised high resolution PDF files preferably to the Pass4press standard, distilled using Adobe Distiller 4 and above. We CANNOT accept PDF files created using Adobe PDF Writer.
When supplying press-optimised PDFs, please ensure that they meet the following criteria:
- PDF version must be 1.3 of higher
- All files must be supplied as CMYK
- Images contained within the PDF must be high resolution (300dpi for halftones, 1200dpi for lineart) CMYK format, saved without Jpeg encoding or custom colour profiles such as L*A*B or ICC. These can cause noticeable shifts in the colour results when output and our printers will not accept files containing such profiles
- Fonts contained within the document must be embedded and subset
- Files created in Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign that contain transparent elements are flattened
- Text contained within a document should be no smaller than 5 point. Text that is smaller than 9 point should not be coloured with more than 2 separations
- Files supplied must contain crop marks and where necessary a bleed area of 3mm
- All pages supplied must be separate (not as multi-page PDF), with double page spread advertisements being saved as two separate files complete with crop marks for imposition purposes
- Please ensure that PDFs supplied have no security or password settings applied to them
- Please supply Digital Cromalin colour proofs with all artwork supplied. Frontier cannot be held responsible for any colour variations when these are not supplied
