Lagardère Travel Retail opens five new F&B outlets in Austria

Lagardère has opened five new food and beverage outlets at stations in Austria. The global retailer has signed a long-term contract with the Austrian Federal Railways (Österreichische Bundesbahnen - OBB) to run the sites, which it has taken over from the Austrian Tekro Restaurant Betriebsgesellschaft. As part of the deal Lagardère has also taken on the employment of the existing 80 staff at the sites. The restaurants are a Deli Snack & Shop and a LavazzaCaffè Espresso Bar at Graz Railway Station and a Burger King, a Wiener Café & Restaurant Johann and a Lavazza Caffè Bar at Salzburg station. Dufry wins contract for duty free stores on Hong Kong to China rail link

Dufry has won the tender to provide duty free shopping at a new state-of-the-art railway station connecting Hong Kong with mainland China. The announcement comes as the importance of rail retail to the GTR market is becoming increasingly apparent. In the UK big brands are rushing to make their mark on multi-million pound revamps of hub stations such as London St Pancras and London Bridge.
